Marketing Research Associate

The Demand Generation team at Brainshark is seeking an entry level Marketing Research Associate to help support our overall database management and lead generation efforts.  This position will report to the Marketing Analytics Manager and will work closely with Data Operations, Marketing Operations, Programs and our Account Development Team.  The Marketing Research Associate will work with information in, LinkedIn, and other tools to research attributes of our target companies, marketing audience and market trends.  This individual is comfortable working within different systems, is proficient in using Excel for data manipulation and analysis; organized; self-driven; can work independently and is also a team player with excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be a new or recent college graduate who is data-driven with strong researching skills, and possesses a high degree of interest in growing into a sales or marketing career.

  • Conduct company and contact research using online and internal resources including, LinkedIn and other informational and Sales Intelligence tools
  • Coordinate and import lists from various sources and marketing programs and contribute to analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to data governance by maintaining and creating clean, complete contact lists and organizational charts for our target market, with relevant data such as direct dial phone numbers and accurate email addresses
  • Work closely with Marketing Programs and Data Operations to gather prospecting requirements and research company firmographics, market conditions and buying trends and groups
  • Help contribute to customer profiling and modeling to support targeted campaign and Account Based Marketing strategies
  • Assist with strategic projects that relate to lead generation and data management procedures


  • BA/BS with concentration in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Previous internship/job experience working in a B2B marketing or Sales environment
  • Previous internship/job experience using a CRM system ( preferred, but not required)
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to learn new technology applications quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects using appropriate methodologies and tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High personal and professional integrity
